Following an undeveloped section of the Delaware River, this section runs from Matamoras to Portland. There are not any rapids along this section, only a few strainers as the river passes along islands. This is a multi-day floating trip with numerous places along the route opened to primitive camping. Near the end of the trip is Delaware Water Gap that has mountains crowned with towering cliffs, offering impressive scenery.
